Double Up 11/29::Ladies Free
Come to 222 Club at 222 Hyde at Turk in the TL this Thursday night. It's all chicks spinning for your dancing pleasure. Girls get in free, boys have to pay $5.
Caught the Busdriver/Daedelus/Antimc show at the Great American Music Hall last Saturday night. His RoadKillOvercoat album, produced by Nobody and Boom Bip, is outstanding. It's weird (even for him) yet more accessible, which makes no sense until you hear it for yourself.

Great show. Dope cover art by Seripop.
Glue and Hangar 18 are still on tour. Fun shit.

Wax Wednesdays
Wax Wednesdays goes down every Wednesday (duh!) at Milk:
Oh and don't you know the Wax logo (a tribute to the First Priority Music label) is Milk Dee approved? "Thanks for the love, you flipped it real hot."
A lot has happened since the Can Goods party--Serg's birthday dinner at Popol Vuh, Bomarr CD release party, Thread Show, Catchdubs at SuperFriends, Charlie's Pharmacy cocktail taste test... my boyfriend Serg's blog is the best source for the latest.

Can Goods & Treasure Island Music Festival
Can Goods today, Treasure Island yesterday, Catchdubs Friday night. Crazy weekend! Hope to actually see Bun B perform.
We have been laughing all weekend about the Slap party Friday night, Venue was switched from RX Gallery to Etiquette Lounge which looks nice from the photos, but is quite bizarre in reality (how upscale can you be at Market and 7th?). And not enough etiquette. Anyway, one of the owners apparently enjoys accompanying the DJs on his saxophone.
Catchdubs searches for tracks with sax.
Trackademicks is perplexed.
More of Serg's pics here. (Note the fine homoerotic artwork.)
Pics from SuperFriends with Low Budget here. We left at 1:30 and MIA hadn't shown up, so I doubt she did.
Yesterday at the Treasure Island Music Festival, performances were all good but one of the highlights for me was DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist's "Hard Sell" intro. Check it in five parts, from their Hollywood Bowl show, here:
Search YouTube for "hard sell," "shadow" and "cut chemist" and you'll find more.

And there are already lots of great pics up from the festival here. I had a blast.

DJ Shadow at the Fillmore tonight
I can't wait to see if Turf Talk and/or Keak and/or Nump are gonna jump on stage with him.
Read Nick (Catchdubs) Barat's excellent Turf Talk article in The Fader.
Big ups to Fourcolorzack for killing it at Milk last Saturday. Check out his Weekday Warrior Pt 1 mix. Blowing my mind with the Pleasure and Third World tracks.

Do NOT Sleep This Saturday, San Francisco
I have been waiting since my trip to Seattle last summer for Fourcolorzack to make an appearance in the Bay and finally it goes down this Saturday night at Milk, thanks to the army that is SuperFriends.
Peep this clip of my first Fourcolorzack experience at the Puma Store in Bellevue, WA with DJ Supreme:
After this set I thanked Zack for making me feel at home, and he told me he was coming out here in August. Well that didn't happen, and despite constant nagging, Erik at Milk is still nice to me.
I'm still gonna post my SXSW recap, even it's two months late. It's comin'.
And this Sunday night, April 22nd, meet me at the Hemlock Tavern to celebrate Dose One's 30th birthday as well as RE:UP Magazine's Issue #13 release. Dose promises to DJ until he's too drunk to use a headphone cue.

Paul Nice back in SF tonight!
See you at Milk tonight.
I jock Nick Catchdubs's flyer steez. But do you see the typo?
Comic I'm feelin': Finished Brian Wood's Supermarket series TPB, illustrated by Kristian Donaldson, on my flight to Houston (which was supposed to be a flight to Austin, but the plane landed in Houston 4-1/2 hours late) for SXSW. Gonna check out his Channel Zero next. If you know of similar books that I might dig, please hit me up with suggestions.
Supermarket's story and graphics got me geeked.
My personal March Madness recap (which has nothing to do with college basketball) is coming soon. You can get some of it from my honey's blog, but that's only part of my story. In the meantime get a taste of the El-P tour at synthesisradio.net which features a clip from El-P's SXSW performance with Mr. Dibbs and band at the Red Eyed Fly. I was standing next to the camera guy, so it's almost exactly like being me at that show. Drink three tall cans of Lone Star before watching, and it WILL be exactly like being me.

SXSW 2007: Texas, here we come
Been looking forward to this all year and now SXSW 2007 is upon us. Check out some of our pics from last year.
Thanks to Matt SonzalaSoReal, I'm DJing Wednesday night, 3/14 at Karma Lounge, 119 W. 8th Street in Austin. I play from 9:00 to 10:00, followed by Houston DJs Dayta at 10:00 and Witnes at 11:00. Check out this band schedule. It's about to be ridiculous. And these are just the official SXSW showcases, there are tons more parties and shows going on all over town.
I'll be in Austin from Wednesday until Sunday, the 18th. This year I remembered to pack some green for St. Patrick's Day. Green stuff to wear, is what I'm talkin' about. What did you think?
Big thanks to everyone who came out to the 45 party last Friday night, and extra large thanks to all the DJs: Mr. Supreme, B.Cause, Centipede aka Mophono, Morse Code, Neta, Ross Hogg, Matthew Africa, Kingmost, RasCue, Vin Sol and Fernando. It was an epic night and the best birthday party of my life.
